Effects

Antivirus 2007 is a forged antivirus program which pretends to clean fake viruses detected on a system installed with Microsoft Windows.

The virus can affect your system badly, but it depends on how it has been programmed to spread. Programming can be done in several ways, sometimes it is programmed to find files on your computer to infect, and sometimes it is programmed to duplicate the virus within the files that have been found.

Antivirus 2007 has a number of other names through which it can spread.

It is also known as:

    * Vitae Antivirus
    * Windows Antivirus
    * Win Antivirus
    * Antivirus Pro
    * Antivirus Pro 2009
    * Antivirus 2009, 2010
    * Internet Antivirus Plus
    * System Antivirus
    * Spyware Guard 2008 and 2009
    * Spyware Protect 2009
    * Winweb Security 2008
    * System Security

Antivirus 2007 can infect any computer running on Microsoft Windows operating system, and is browser independent. It can spread through Zlob Trojan, and another infection method is fake codec scams. For example, Video ActiveX Enhancement 2.07 is now known to be spreading via e-mails.

Each of the given methods has its own mode of downloading and installing itself on a computer. Antivirus 2007 is made to look attractive and professional to trick computer users into thinking that it is a real antivirus software, followed by convincing the user to purchase a full version of it. In a normal installation, it is programmed to run a scan on the computer and give false virus results showing that the system is infected with virus. After the scan is completed, a warning message appears showing ‘virus found’ and the user has to either click on “Next” or “Cancel”. After user clicks on any of these buttons a download box will pop up. This misleading method is a trick to frighten the user into forcibly purchasing the antivirus. If the user refuses to buy the software then the pop-ups will continue to appear. This type of behavior can cause a computer to operate slower than normal.
Prevention

Here are some tips which you can follow to protect your computer from virus attacks:

You have to download and install an antivirus program from the Internet. Install all of its latest updates and scan your computer using the antivirus program.

Install Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. Also make sure that both of them have their updates installed. Run a scan using this Malwarebytes and Antispyware program. Remove all the Spywares or Malwares if found and proceed to the next step.

Internet Explorer is the browser, which is by default installed on Windows XP. Some sites do not work properly on IE. If you want to use those sites, you have to set your Cookie setting slider to Medium, Medium-High or High. This makes a bit difficult for third parties to track you when you are online.

Most of the adware, spywares and malwares are designed to attack Internet Explorer. So you can use other browsers like Firefox, Google Chrome etc. Although each of them have their own advantages and disadvantages but they are good in protecting your computer from malwares and spyware.

If you use these four steps, you can easily protect your computer from adware and spywares.
